Step 1. Click the "Messages" icon on your Facebook homepage. The Messages icon is located in the top left edge as well as appears like two small overlapping speech bubbles.

Step 2. Click the discussion containing the message or messages you wish to remove. If it is not listed on the preliminary Messages pop-up window, click "See All" to check out every one of your personal messages. Click the discussion on that listing having the message you want to delete.

Deleting an exclusive message in your Messages inbox does not delete it from the inbox of your discussion companion.
